(naked cake balls .... what a way to start an entry, right? Talking about naked balls, LOL).
Finished product:
1 box red velvet cake mix (cook as directed on box for 13 X 9 cake)
1 can cream cheese frosting (16 oz.)
1 package chocolate bark (regular or white chocolate)
wax paper
1. After cake is cooked and cooled completely, crumble into large bowl.
2. Mix thoroughly with 1 can cream cheese frosting. (It may be easier to use fingers to mix together, but be warned it will get messy.)
3. Roll mixture into quarter size balls and lay on cookie sheet. (Should make 45-50.)
4. Chill for several hours. (You can speed this up by putting them in the freezer.)
5. Melt chocolate in microwave per directions on package.
6. Roll balls in chocolate and lay on wax paper until firm. (Use a spoon to dip and roll in chocolate and then tap off extra.)
I originally got the recipe HERE.

I've been baking again
This time, it's another cheesecake creation. These are cheesecake pops, from the cookbook "Sticky, Chewy, Messy, Gooey: Desserts for the Serious Sweet Tooth" by Jill O'Connor.

mmm cupcakes
These are Snickerdoodle cupcakes from the dessert cookbook "desserts that have killed better men than me" by Jeremy Jackson. I don't normally like sweets but have a soft spot for snickerdoodle cookies, so I couldn't pass up trying to make these.

quick and easy meal
Both of my kids loved this (I opted NOT to tell them that there was salad dressing in the recipe - neither of them like it) and it took no time at all to make!
Chicken Caesar Pasta
8 ounces dried pasta (your choice of shape)
1 cup diced, cooked chicken (seasoned to taste)
1 cup or more shredded Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup creamy Caesar salad dressing
salt and pepper to taste
Cook and drain pasta according to package directions and return to the pasta to the pot.
To the pasta, add chicken, 1 cup of the Parmesan cheese, the salad dressing, salt and pepper; toss to combine.
Serve warm. Sprinkle with more Parmesan cheese (optional).

Introducing....
George Clooney! He was named by the Connor (the piggy's original name was "chupcake" - I don't know why, lol) when I told him we needed something a little more masculine.
So far he gets along with the other boys pretty well. There is definitely some asserting of dominance between the baby and GC, but other than that, no scuffles.
I love his crazy hair and he's a feisty one, for sure!

Milo
This is my lazy dog.
This is my lazy dog who was too lazy to go to the front door and bark at the mailman.
This is my lazy dog who was too lazy to go to the front door and bark at the mailman and barked at him from his sunny patch in the dining room all the way at the back of the house.
Enjoy him as much as I do!

a poem, by Mason
I want to share with you the poem that Mason had to write for class today. I was never any good at poetry and dreaded it when he asked me to help him today at lunch. Here's what he came up with (all he told me was that it had to rhyme and have eight lines).
*****
I saw a caribou.
Then a zebu came across,
The zebu told me to get lost.
So I went to see the bears,
They were standing on some chairs.
Then I saw a little horse,
He told me I had to leave, of course!
*****
I thought it was rather clever!

Photos, day 29.
Ahhh, final day of NaPhotoPoMo. I did it!
When the Connor came through the lunch line today he asked why a piece of poo was telling him to eat his fruits and veggies. I made a mental note to find him something about the California Raisins online this weekend to show him it's not poo.

Photos, day 28.
This is the look you get when you ask him if he wants a piece of cheese ... it's usually followed by him tearing around the house, because that's what he does.

Oh, Shamrock Shake, I waited a year for you to come back. I don't know how I waited long enough to take a picture of you before I drank you!
